- Open the QBTest folder, change the name of the.QBW.adr file by removing .adr from the end.
- Open QuickBooks and then the company file from the new QBTest folder.
- Review all the registered transactions using your account.
- Go to the File menu, select Utilities, and then Verify Data to test the data integrity of the recovered file.
- If everything is fine with this company file, transfer its copy to the original location and shift the damaged company file to a different location.
Steps to recover data using the ADR version of. QBW and.TLG files:
(Note: It will recover all transactions of the last 12 hours)
- Again, create a new folder on your Windows desktop with the name QBTest.
- Locate and open QuickBooksAutoDataRecovery folder and copy the .TLG.adr and .QBW.adr files.
- Paste both the files to the new QBTest folder.
- After pasting both the files, change their names by removing .adr from the end.
- Open QuickBooks and then the company files from the QBTest folder.
- Click the File tab, select Utilities, and then Verify Data to check the data integrity of the recovered file.
- If this copy of the company data file is good, transfer its copy to the original location and move the damaged one to another location.

Solution 5. Set up and open a portable company data file
- to log in as an administrator to QuickBooks Desktop, choose the File menu and then Create Copy.
- Click the Portable company file and then Next.
